The core unit of Mathom is a Task, which represents a unit of work with a defined start, end and deliverable. Mathom's primary use and purpose is the automation of data collection that would normally be performed by a human, such as searching online databases. Mathom includes built-in services for interactive webpage navigation and data extraction during the browsing process. It supports dynamic task generation, allowing active tasks to spawn subtasks that execute in parallel. This enables a single task request to trigger highly scalable, multi-threaded jobs, with all results tracked, logged, and consolidated into a unified response.
